Missions

"... that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth"

(Isaiah 49:6b)

One of the main reasons that Regent Christian Academy was formed was to allow the heart of the Father to be expressed through its staff and students.

One of the ways that we choose to live this mandate is through outreach.

Missions are a catalyst to bring a community together, teaching students to serve the Lord by helping others.

We try to provide many opportunities for our students to serve others and share the love of Jesus both locally and around the world.

Missions Abroad

During the months of January February and March we focus our energy on the House-Build in Mexico and the continued construction of our Christian school in Kijabe Kenya Africa.

Each spring break, for 2 weeks, we send our students out into the mission field; either to our Mexico Project or our Africa Project.  Teams of 20 -25 students with chaperones complete months of workshops, training and counseling, to prepare them for God's work out in the field.

Our students embark on a journey of the unknown.  They go into lands they have never seen, embrace a culture they do not know and experience foods they have never tasted.  The students go into impoverished areas and bring the good news of the gospel of Christ.  They participate in a number of activities, from running children's programs and vacation bible schools to house building and other practical projects.

Africa boyWe ask all our Regent families and our community to please pray for our students and our missions projects.  We also invite you too, to talk to our teachers and staff and find out how you can particpate and be apart of our outreach.   It is awesome.

Missions Local

At Regent Christian Academy, we strongly believe in the importance of outreach and desire to teach our students to live lives that reach out to serve others. We offer many opportunities throughout the year for students to participate in missions projects. With the exception of Service Club, which is open to middle school students only, all of our projects actively involve other departments.

Christmas Outreach Projects
Each year, during the Christmas season, the whole school participates in local community outreach projects.  Students fundraise to support a food hamper project administered by Bible Fellowship Church.  They also provide needed supplies for homeless people in Surrey.  Most recently, we have teamed up with Night Shift Ministries and their Christmas Stocking project which blesses the homeless in our community.

Casual Fridays in December
In December, students may choose to wear casual clothing on designated Fridays if they bring in $2.00 or the equivalent in food (family rate is $5.00). This food and money goes to support a food hamper project administered by Bible Fellowship Church.

Money For Missions
During January and February, the entire student body works to raise money to fund projects that cross borders-specifically house building in Mexico and a school we are building in Kijabe, Kenya.  Involvement in the early years develops a desire to participate in one of these short-term missions trips when students are in high school.  We frequently hear reports of RCA graduates who continue to be involved in missions after leaving school-their experience in high school having been life altering.

Warm Clothing Drive
In January, RCA families band together to send warm clothing to the less fortunate in our community.
