Welcome
In 2006, we became aware of a village missionary base in Kenya called Kijabe. Owned and operated by Africa Inland Mission AIM, this missionary base is one of the oldest, largest, and most established in East Africa.
On its property, a two hour drive west of Nairobi, is a church, a mission hospital, and a boarding school for foreign missionary children.
During a visit to Kijabe in 2006, our very own pastors ALEX PALMER and STEVE WITMER, had the opportunity to meet the local pastor Simon Muhotu and his wife Margaret. While there, they learned of the need in that area for a Christian school that would serve the needs of the local community and those of the Africa Inland Church.
RCA staff realized the potential this project would have in providing a missions endeavor for our community and a venue for teams of high school students to minister each year.
Taking steps of faith, RCA organized a fundraising event in the spring of 2006, raising over $30,000 to complete the first two classrooms of the new community Christian school in Kijabe.
Sixty kindergarten and grade one students occupied the completed classrooms for the very first time on January 5th 2009.
A team of 9 high school students, under the direction of teacher Miss Lana Kennelly, will travel to Kijabe, Kenya, this spring break to share the love of Christ in tangible ways.
For more information please contact our team leaders: Lana & Jamie Garland, Ron & Julie Berghuis, and Adrian Falcon.
Our committment as a school is to provide finances to build two additional classrooms each year. Our goal is to have an entire school built withing seven years that will house students from kindergarten to grade 12.
We aim to send teams of high school students and adults each spring break to assist in whatever practical needs they may have. Additionally, we hope to send teachers to help in the organization of a fine Christian school program.
